The Greater Understanding ‘Privacy Policy’, displayed below, is relevant for Australian customers, franchisees, contractors and employees only and details the nature of the information that we collect and how this information is used, stored and disclosed.

What information is collected and how is it used?
Customers

During lessons, seminars and through the Greater Understanding official website www.greaterunderstanding.com.au, customers have the opportunity to purchase our products and services. In order to provide these products and/or services, we require certain personal and educational information. This information may be used to:

  • determine and/or provide the most suitable Greater Understanding product and/or service
  • proactively record and track academic progress
  • provide feedback to parents regarding past, present and/or future academic projections
  • provide direct market research so as to ensure that Greater Understanding products and services continue to assist students most effectively.

The following personal information is required:

  • Contact information (name, address, phone, email etc)
  • Identification information (DOB, school etc)
  • Academic information (report cards, past tutor assessments, learning disabilities diagnosis documentation if applicable etc)
  • Intention information (intention of use of Greater Understanding products or services
  • Credit card details, if applicable
Contractors

Personal information provided to Greater Understanding Pty Ltd via submission of an employment application will be used to analyse the applicant’s suitability for the position specified.

The following personal information is required:

  • Contact information (name, address, phone, email etc)
  • Identification information (DOB, etc)
  • A résumé/CV outlining your job history, experience, education and relevant skills.
  • The requisite information to ensure compliance with the Child Protection (Prohibited Employment) Act 1998.
  • Information described in the ‘Join Us’ page on www.greaterunderstanding.com.au
  • If the application is successful: banking information, ABN and other related information.

If your application is successful, all collected personal details will be contained within a Greater Understanding contractor file. Greater Understanding Pty Ltd will only disclose this information when it is required by law: that is, to authorised government agencies or as directed by yourself. Unless it is required by law, contractors consent is required to release any information to a third party.

To enable efficient communication, limited personal and contact information may be made available internally to other Greater Understanding contractors or Greater Understanding management, whether it is in a physical documentation form or an unprinted digital document file.

Franchisees

Personal information provided to Greater Understanding Pty Ltd by potential franchisees will be used to analyse the applicant’s suitability for becoming a Greater Understanding franchisee. This information will be largely obtained through our ‘Applying for a Greater Understanding franchise’ documentation as well as during our interview procedure.

This information may be used to:

  • determine the suitability of the applicants in becoming a Greater Understanding franchisee.
  • provide Greater Understanding with the consent to inspect, query and verify the accuracy of such information during the application process.
  • allow effective communication to Greater Understanding management or other Greater Understanding franchisees.

The following personal information is required:

  • Contact information (name, address, phone, email etc)
  • Identification information (DOB etc)
  • A résumé/CV outlining your job history, experience, education and relevant skills.
  • The requisite information to ensure compliance with the Child Protection (Prohibited Employment) Act 1998.

  • Credit history and other financial history

Privacy Policies of Greater Understanding Franchises

In addition to the corporate Privacy Policy of Greater Understanding Pty Ltd, each Greater Understanding franchise has a Privacy Policy to cover the information they collect. To view the Privacy Policy of a specific Greater Understanding franchise, customers should contact that franchise directly.

Disclosure

Greater Understanding Pty Ltd will not disclose this information to any third party except as required by law or as specified in this Privacy Policy. Collected information will not be released to third parties for marketing purposes.

Data Security

Collected information is only available to authorised management within Greater Understanding Pty Ltd who require access to this information to conduct commercial activity in the name of Greater Understanding Pty Ltd.

Greater Understanding Pty Ltd is committed to ensuring the accuracy of all of the information it collects, and accordingly, we encourage all of our customers to immediately notify Greater Understanding management if any personal or contact information needs to be changed.

Access

Greater Understanding customers may request access to or to correct details of their personal information by contacting Greater Understanding management. Although this service is usually free, if the information requested requires significant preparation time, it may be available at a reasonable cost to reflect this preparation time. If any cost is required, Greater Understanding customers will be advised beforehand and approval will be required before the information is prepared.

Greater Understanding Pty Ltd may not be able to grant access to the entirety of personal information that we have compiled about our customers and related parties.

Instances where personal information may not be available include:

  • when the disclosure would contain personal information about another Greater Understanding customer or other persons.
  • when the disclosure would contain commercially sensitive information about Greater Understanding Pty Ltd.
  • when the disclosure is prevented by law.
  • when the disclosure regards anticipated/existing/past legal proceedings.
